AH Reed Memorial Park

AH Reed Memorial Park, located at Whareora Road, is a magnificent remnant of the original kauri forests, which were once extensive throughout Northland.

There are walks throughout the bush, a feature being the canopy walkway over the Wai Koromiko stream, which gives you a great view of the forest including two 500 year old Kauri trees. There is also a half hour walk that starts where which takes you upstream along the Hatea River to the Whangarei Falls.

The canopy walkway has been designed to provide access for wheel chairs. There are several other walkways within the park.
